Eagle Plain refers to our National Bird and how we honor an animal who doesn't even know it is being given such a high and mighty status. This refers to my own life because I live in the United States and we honor the American Eagle.

 I liked Eagle Plain and Fire and Ice because they are easy for me to understand and they're relatively short and simple. I dislike the rest of the poems because they have a meaning that I do not seem to understand. I would choose Eagle Plain out of the six poems. I am personally connected to that poem because I live in America and the Eagle is a our National bird. 

Part 3

 Physical Prescence and Voice and Articulation would be easiest for me because it is easy for me to judge because I would only need to use mainly my senses such as sight and hearing.

The most difficult for me wold be Level of Difficulty and Evidence of Understanding because judging them on difficult and understand relies on if I think the poem is difficult or not.

Qualities of a strong recitation:
The competitor will appear at ease and comfortable with the audience. He or she will engage the audience
through physical presence, including appropriate body language, confidence, and eye contact—without
appearing artificial. All qualities of the contestant’s physical presence will work together to the benefit of 
the poem.
 

 Part 3

I watched the video with the black man who had a lisp and he had really good voice but did a little too much with the dramatic effect.

Another video I watched was with a woman who I didn't like because she had too much dramatic effect and I couldn't understand her voice because she was speaking way too fast.

Part 4

I am kinda excited for the performing of Poetry Outloud but I also don't like how we have to memorize it all. Performing the poems and reciting it with dramatic effect is going to be fun:))

 

 

Nature vs. Self Reliance

Self Reliance is more relevant to my life because everyone seems to conform to a certain goal or other morals and aspects. I think in my opinion it is better to be an individual because you may think of what is right in your heart besides what the media or anybody else thinks.

This could still be bad as one's morals may be corrupt and think that they are doing something that is right but is essentially wrong. With more individuals there are more ideas and that is what is needed to succeed in life.

Crucible

Besides just increasing our knowledge in literature, reading, and writing, reading novels and plays give a much more deeper meaning for me as a student. Not only does it help our understanding of certain situations but also helps us comprehend and express ideas and thoughts easier.

Reading this book allows me to see my morals and also helps on what I think about things such as what I see about the whole witch conspiracy. While reading the book I think to myself what would I have done in a situation like this if I was in their time and how I would see people. If my wife were to ever get accused of being a witch I would quickly pack up and leave as quick as possible. Thoughts like these rush though my head and deeper meanings that connect to my life like if someone I knew were to be accused of a crime she/he didn't do how would I handle things? Reading novels and plays is just an interesting way to comprehend and express my thoughts on certain things.

The American Dream

Being in America, I must say that we are all blessed. With such amazing opportunities, rights, and freedom, I must say that I am glad to live in this great country. Compared to many other countries, it would be just as difficult to do the everyday tasks we do today in a different country such as Afghanistan where just walking to school is just as dangerous as walking through downtown Olympia.

I believe many people would do anything to be where us students are today getting an education for our future to come. What is an on-going problem is that we abuse this right with bad grades and just carelessness. Even after realizing the fact that other people would kill to be in our position, some just don't seem to care.  What would be wonderful is if everyone would realize and understand this clearly enough to actually accept what opportunities we were given and excel in them.

For me, I don't have a plan for the future right at this moment. Thankfully, I have just as many great opportunities that lie in wait for me and I don't have to worry as much until later on. All I know is I want to be a successful person in which I have a nice house, nice family, and a great job that I love to do.
To know that I am blessed with such things makes me happy to live in such a wonderful country.
